Short Articles vs Long Articles – A Blogger Review

December 29th, 2009 | 6 Comments | Posted in Blog, Technology

I always wanted to update this blog regularly and regrettably I’m not finding time to do so. Finally I managed to write an article which should be really worthy of note for all the bloggers around. So here we go.

Bloggers are genuinely busy people who work very hard to improve their blog by updating it on a daily basis and promoting it over social media. They have very short time to spare and find it very tricky to write articles in such a short span. They dedicates most of their time for social media and research work as a part of marketing process.

Now, here comes the concept, short articles vs long articles. People have a propensity to write short articles because they don’t find time to write one, this might sometimes come handy but most of the times one can’t expect immensely good article.

Articles

Long articles on the other hand consume lot of time but indeed worth writing. There are people, who often tend to write a detailed descriptive article which is always a very good idea. Both short articles and long articles have their own advantages and disadvantages which I’m going to talk about little further.

Long Articles : There are people who write long articles and without a doubt they are highly informative. The good thing about these articles is that they are highly search engine friendly and have their own status. However, few people misuse the concept to explain something in more number of words than required for the sake of word count. So, obviously the author travels around the earth to explain what is earth, rather than pointing straight at it.

Short Articles : People sometimes write short articles because they don’t find time to write long ones. This is true is some cases and truly false in some cases because of the fact that, there are people who are lazy to write long articles. The best thing about short articles is that the author comes straight to the point without nagging; he/she try to make the article short, sweet and informative. The bad thing about this concept is that they are not search engine friendly.

I personally feel that, writing long articles doesn’t always make you a great author and in the mean while writing short articles doesn’t make you a weak author. Everything depends on the context. So try to be informative without misusing words while writing long articles, and if you are wring a short article try to be specific about the point you want to write about. Don’t restrict the words to keep things too short, use reasonable number of words to give perfect structure to the article.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now. Any comments and suggestions are highly appreciated.

I always have short articles and very less long articles because I don’t have much time to do massive research for the article. Usually, I give direct information to readers. Now, I might need to consider write more long articles.
